Our Story

Since 1993, Under One Roof has been dedicated to making a transformative impact in the East Norwalk community. By repurposing a vacant elementary school into a vibrant community center, the organization provides quality affordable housing for older adults and early childhood education for local families. The Marvin, home to 50 one-bedroom low-income apartments and a children’s center, has become a symbol of community resilience and innovation.

Impact

On average, nearly 90 older adults and young children benefit daily from our programs. Since 1997, The Marvin has housed nearly 250 older adult residents, served over 400,000 nutritious meals, and hosted more than 9,000 daily programs. Our Children’s Center has provided affordable early childhood education to over 500 children, fostering vital intergenerational relationships.
