U-Lead Athens is a dedicated volunteer organization that empowers immigrant students and those from immigrant families, including un(der)documented individuals, to access higher education. Founded in 2014 in response to discriminatory policies in Georgia, U-Lead Athens has transformed from a small group to an impactful community, supporting an average of 50 students weekly in a safe and inclusive environment.
With the support of U-Lead Athens, 22 students have successfully graduated from college, while 74 students are currently pursuing their degrees with U-Lead Scholarships. The organization has engaged over 100 community volunteers, providing essential resources and support to hundreds of students in the Athens-Clarke County area.
