TIRN has successfully saved 50,000 sea turtles annually by shutting down a slaughterhouse in Mexico and ending all legal slaughter of turtles. Additionally, 250,000 square miles of the Pacific Ocean have been closed to longline and driftnet fisheries to protect marine animals.
