Our Story

Turning Point began in 1980 through the grassroots efforts of community volunteers who wanted to provide a safe haven for victims of domestic violence. Starting with a 15-bed shelter and a 24-hour crisis line, the organization has expanded its mission to include sexual assault intervention and prevention since 1986. Located in the Metro Detroit, Tri-County area, Turning Point has a long-standing commitment to advocating for survivors of domestic and sexual violence.
