Our Story

Founded in 2011, Turn the Page KC is dedicated to mobilizing the community to ensure that every child in Kansas City gains the literacy skills necessary for a lifetime of opportunity. The organization envisions a future where all children, regardless of their school or zip code, can read proficiently.

Impact

Since its inception, Turn the Page KC has significantly improved literacy rates, with an annual increase in the number of 3rd graders reading at grade level. The organization has also quadrupled enrollment in academic summer programs and achieved a 4% reduction in chronic student absenteeism.
