Our Story

In 2009, Ian and Anne May made a life-changing decision to move from Portland to Kenya to manage a humanitarian project. The birth of their youngest daughter, Ameena, in 2010, highlighted the stark contrast between the opportunities available to American children and those faced by impoverished Kenyan children. This realization ignited a passion to act. Partnering with dedicated Kenyan early education professionals, they founded the Ameena Project, focusing on equal access to education and nourishment for Kenyan children.
