Our Story
Founded in 1967 by Rev. William Brown, Trinity Christian Community emerged as a beacon of hope in response to the challenges faced by African American youth in New Orleans. Recognizing the lack of opportunities during a tumultuous time in race relations, Rev. Brown mobilized volunteers to create a safe haven for at-risk youth. The Upper Room community center on Erato Street became a hub for activities, offering a coffee house, day camps, educational programs, and a food bank. Over the years, TCC has developed unique programs that address the needs of the community, fostering growth and resilience among the youth.
