Tree-Plenish

Our Story

Tree-Plenish was born from the vision of two high school seniors, Sethu and Lizzy, who sought to make a positive impact on the environment. Recognizing the significant amount of paper used during their schooling, they initiated a project to plant trees to offset this consumption. Their goal was to plant 230 trees in their community of Mansfield, Massachusetts, and they invited local residents to join in this effort. In May, with the help of 40 volunteers, they successfully planted 330 trees, igniting a passion for sustainability in their community.

Expanding Our Mission

After witnessing the enthusiasm for their project, Sethu and Lizzy realized that other schools might be interested in similar initiatives. Despite the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, they transformed their senior project into a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Tree-Plenish. With the support of 25 college students, they began mentoring high school students and helping them host their own tree-planting events.

Our Impact

Since its inception, Tree-Plenish has planted a remarkable total of 91,688 saplings across 528 schools, engaging over 8,336 volunteers in the process. In 2023 alone, the organization planted 22,496 trees and collaborated with 143 schools, demonstrating a strong commitment to environmental sustainability and community involvement.
