About Tree House Humane Society

Founded in 1971 by compassionate volunteers, Tree House Humane Society has dedicated itself to enhancing the lives of homeless cats in Chicago. With a pioneering approach to cageless sheltering, the organization has expanded its services to include community outreach, veterinary care, and programs for feral cats. In 2017, Tree House moved to a state-of-the-art facility that serves both cats and the community, celebrating 50 years of impactful service in 2021.

Impact

Since its inception, Tree House Humane Society has rescued and placed over 28,000 cats, significantly improving their welfare through spay/neuter programs, community education, and veterinary care.
