Transition House is dedicated to solving family homelessness in the Santa Barbara community. Founded in 1984 by a consortium of twelve faith communities, it has grown over 40 years to provide emergency shelter, transitional and permanent housing, and comprehensive programs for children.
Approximately 70% of families experiencing homelessness who enter our emergency shelter program succeed in transitioning into permanent housing. Nearly all parents gain, maintain, or increase employment income while in our program.
