Traffick911: A Mission to End Child Sex Trafficking
Founded in 2009 by a group of passionate community activists, Traffick911 emerged from the stark realization that child sex trafficking is not confined to distant lands but is a pressing issue in local communities. The organization’s unwavering mission is to free youth from the grips of sex trafficking, focusing on prevention, awareness, and survivor support.
Over the years, Traffick911 has forged essential partnerships at local, state, and federal levels, significantly enhancing its abolition efforts. With a commitment to education, the organization has trained over 82,000 youth and adults, delivering tailored prevention messages that resonate with diverse audiences. Additionally, more than 18,000 professionals and first responders have been equipped with the knowledge to identify victims of trafficking.
Traffick911’s groundbreaking initiatives include operating a state-licensed, long-term restoration residential home for child sex trafficking victims, which has deepened their understanding of the daily needs of survivors. The organization has also pioneered youth prevention outreach programs in schools, juvenile detention centers, and youth shelters, empowering young people with the tools to avoid trafficking.
Through these outreach efforts, Traffick911 has encountered hundreds of youth who have already experienced trafficking, allowing them to develop effective strategies for supporting survivors on their recovery journeys. This experience laid the groundwork for the flagship Voice & Choice Program, which now serves as the organization’s primary focus, providing 24/7 crisis response and relational advocacy to child sex trafficking victims in North Texas.
In response to legislative changes in Texas, Traffick911 was selected by the Office of the Governor to deliver the Voice & Choice Advocacy Program, working alongside multi-disciplinary teams to ensure that every identified child sex trafficking victim has a dedicated advocate. Currently, Traffick911 serves over 200 victims annually across Dallas, Tarrant, Collin, Denton, and Ellis counties, driven by the belief that "Free people, free people." This philosophy underscores the importance of personal healing journeys in facilitating freedom for others.
Recognized as the Outstanding Organization of the Year by the Fort Worth Commission for Women, Traffick911 has received commendations from local government officials and has been acknowledged by Homeland Security Investigations as a valued partner in the fight against child exploitation.
