Our Story

Founded in October 2009 as part of 1Matters.org, Toledo Streets aims to build a safe community that breaks the cycle of poverty and empowers entrepreneurs. After five years, it became an independent organization, joining a global street paper movement that lifts individuals out of poverty through work. Vendors are self-contracted business owners who retain all profits from selling the paper, which serves as a vital resource and voice for the community.
