Our Story
In December 2018, single mother Alyssa Hofman embarked on a mission to build ten tiny homes for those devastated by California wildfires. Having experienced homelessness herself after a wildfire in 2008, Alyssa was determined to help others facing similar challenges. With no construction experience, she turned to YouTube for guidance and built her first tiny home in early 2019, gifting it to a fellow fire survivor. This grassroots initiative blossomed into the Tiny Pine Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to providing stable housing for wildfire survivors.
Since its inception, Tiny Pine Foundation has constructed and gifted numerous tiny homes in Oroville, California, and has expanded its efforts to Oregon, assisting survivors of the 2020 Almeda Fire. The organization also plays a crucial role in disaster relief, providing essential supplies and support to families affected by wildfires.
