Our Story

Tidewater Rehabilitation & Environmental Education (TREE) was established in 2017 and achieved nonprofit status in 2020. This organization is committed to providing critical interventions and rehabilitation for wildlife, particularly avian species, throughout the greater Tidewater region. In 2023, TREE cared for 1,190 patients across 110 species, focusing on the unique needs of migratory and native birds.

In 2023, TREE provided essential care and rehabilitation for injured, sick, or orphaned birds, while also educating the public about avian conservation.
