Adelaide Tichenor, a dedicated civic leader in Long Beach, faced challenges in receiving treatment for clubfoot as a child. After her passing in 1924, her friends established the Adelaide Tichenor Hospital-School, which opened in 1926. Today, Tichenor Clinic for Children continues her legacy by offering low-cost to no-cost therapy for children with disabilities, ensuring that all children can thrive regardless of their family's financial situation.
