Our Story

In 1969, visionary Sam Shapero recognized the need to preserve Blackie’s Pasture. He founded the Tiburon Peninsula Foundation, acquiring land to protect this vital community space. Through dedicated fundraising, the foundation successfully gifted two-thirds of the land to the Town of Tiburon, ensuring the creation of Blackie’s Pasture, McKegney Green, and South of the Knoll Park.

Impact

The Tiburon Peninsula Foundation actively supports the community through projects and partnerships, focusing on local schools and recreation, especially during challenging times like Covid-19.
