Our Story

In 2020, a group of friends sparked a movement to combat the alarming rise of child trafficking in the United States. Derek Bishop, Savannah Wuthrich, and Jackie and Corey Penny founded Throwdown for the Kids, a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising funds for victims of exploitation. Partnering with The Place of Hope, the first fundraising CrossFit competition was held at The Crossfit Squad gym, igniting a community effort to support this critical cause.

Impact

Since its inception, Throwdown for the Kids has seen remarkable growth, with annual events drawing increasing participation and support. In 2022, the event raised over $25,000, showcasing the community's commitment to making a difference.
