Founded in 2019 by a diverse group of community leaders, Thrive Asheville emerged as an initiative of UNC Asheville to tackle the challenges of a rapidly changing Buncombe County. In May 2021, Thrive became an independent nonprofit, dedicated to collaborating with residents to understand and address local issues.
