Our Story

In February 2007, a passionate group of artists gathered at the Pioneer Community Center in Oregon City, marking the inception of the Three Rivers Artist Guild (TRAG). Their first event, the heART of Oregon Show at the Museum of the Oregon Territory, set the stage for a vibrant artistic community. By March, the guild's by-laws were approved, and TRAG officially began its journey.

Over the years, TRAG has become a cornerstone of the local arts scene, participating in various exhibitions and community events. The guild opened its first gallery inside the Friends of the Library Bookstore in 2009, later moving to a larger space in the Singer Hill building in 2015. This year also marked a significant milestone as TRAG received its 501(c)(3) status, solidifying its commitment to supporting local artists.

Every three months, the TRAG Gallery issues a Call for Artists, showcasing 30-40 new artists every other month. The gallery features diverse mediums, including pottery, fine jewelry, photography, and more. Many participating artists gain invaluable experience in displaying their work and managing a gallery, fostering a supportive environment for creativity.

Impact

TRAG actively supports local artists and enriches the community through art. By providing a platform for artists to showcase their work, the guild fosters creativity and collaboration, enhancing the cultural landscape of Oregon City.
