About Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance

Based in Lexington, Kentucky, the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance is dedicated to ensuring the welfare of Thoroughbred racehorses after their racing careers. This 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization accredits, inspects, and awards grants to aftercare organizations that focus on retraining, retiring, and rehoming these magnificent animals. With the support of industry partners like Breeders’ Cup, The Jockey Club, and Keeneland Association, the Alliance has made a significant impact since its inception in 2012.
