Founded in 1954 by Dr. Oakleigh Thorne, II, Thorne Nature Experience has dedicated itself to connecting youth to nature through hands-on, place-based environmental education experiences. Located in Boulder, Colorado, this organization has evolved to specialize in environmental education for youth in the Boulder and Denver Metro areas.

Each year, Thorne Nature Experience awards over $600,000 in camp scholarships and subsidized school programming to more than 7,000 youth from low-income and Latino families, ensuring that all children have access to nature-based education.
