Founded in 1901, New England Homes for the Deaf (NEHD) is a life plan community dedicated to serving Deaf, Deafblind, and hard of hearing seniors. Located in Massachusetts, NEHD offers a continuum of care that includes independent living, skilled nursing, and hospice care, all within a culturally-sensitive environment.

Impact of NEHD

NEHD has established five Deaf Senior Centers across Massachusetts and opened the first independent living facility designed specifically for low-income Deaf and Deafblind elders. This innovative approach has garnered recognition, including the National Organization on Disability Award.
