Our Story

Founded in 2016 after the tragic loss of Kalee Joy-Barton, Third Strand is the first organization in the United States dedicated to providing a safe and charitable donor milk program. This initiative supports families who have lost a nursing mother, those whose mothers are unable to breastfeed due to cancer and other life-threatening illnesses, and families with adopted newborns. By offering up to 1,300 ounces of donor breast milk at no cost, Third Strand ensures that every baby receives the best start in life, even in the most challenging circumstances.
