Our Story

Theological Horizons was founded in 1990 by Karen Wright Marsh and Charles Marsh, driven by the belief that vibrant theological scholarship and authentic Christian community are essential within and beyond the university. Since its inception, Theological Horizons has developed various programs, including research and writing grants, Bible studies, lectures, and seminars. In 2000, the organization established its center at the Bonhoeffer House in Charlottesville, Virginia, where it continues to foster a welcoming environment for students and scholars alike.
