Our Story
In the Fall of 1997, a Boston-area theatre artist faced a life-threatening illness, prompting the theatre community to unite for a fundraising event. The Big Easy nightclub generously hosted this gathering, where theatre artists contributed their time and talents. This successful event inspired the creation of the Theatre Community Benevolent Fund (TCBF), dedicated to assisting theatre practitioners in dire need.
Impact
In 2019, TCBF provided over $12,000 in grants. The need surged during the pandemic, with more than $250,000 granted in financial relief by the one-year mark.
