Located in the heart of downtown Boston, The Writers' Room of Boston is a sanctuary for writers of all genres. For over three decades, this urban writers' colony has provided a supportive community and workspace for both emerging and established writers. With 24/7 access to a secure and accessible building, members can find inspiration and focus in a dedicated environment.

Impacting the Writing Community

Each year, it costs approximately $2,300 to support one member, with a significant portion of that cost covered by public grants and private donations. Currently, 25% of members receive financial assistance, ensuring that talented writers can continue their craft regardless of their financial situation. Additionally, five Fellows are awarded a fully-funded year-long residency, fostering creativity and growth.
