Our Story

The Swifty Foundation was founded in 2014 in memory of Michael Gustafson, who at just 15 years old initiated a groundbreaking 'Master Plan' to donate his tumor tissue for research. This vision led to the creation of the Gift from a Child program, a national initiative dedicated to post-mortem brain tumor donations aimed at enhancing research efforts.

Impact

Since its inception, the foundation has built a national network that significantly contributes to pediatric cancer research, improving outcomes for children battling brain cancer. The Gift from a Child program is now part of the Children’s Brain Tumor Network, maximizing the potential of donated tissue for vital research breakthroughs.
