Our Story

The Sharing Shelf was founded by Deborah Blatt to combat clothing insecurity and fulfill the basic material needs of low-income children and teens in Westchester County. Since 2009, this initiative has transformed from a small basement operation into a 4,100 square foot warehouse, collaborating with over 100 nonprofits and schools to make a significant impact.

Impact

In 2023, The Sharing Shelf provided wardrobe packs to 4,908 infants, children, and teens, and distributed essential items such as 122,017 period products, 91,637 diapers, and 2,865 hygiene kits.
