Our Story

Founded over 40 years ago by The Rev. F. Lyman Farnham and Sharon Krieger, Samaritan Community began as a counseling program for those visiting a food pantry in Baltimore. Today, it has evolved into a full-service crisis intervention and counseling program, dedicated to serving the community's needs.

Impact

In 2023, Samaritan Community distributed over $300,000 in emergency financial stipends, helping members avert crises related to housing, utilities, and medical care. Additionally, nearly 2,900 bags of groceries were provided to approximately 2,220 households.
