Our Story

The Russell Education Foundation was established in 1999 by ex-Miami Dolphins linebacker Twan Russell and his late mother, Corliss, a dedicated middle-school teacher. The foundation is committed to eradicating illiteracy among inner-city youth through innovative educational programs, including the Russell Reading Room and mentoring initiatives.

Impact

Since its inception, REF has positively influenced the lives of over 20,000 low-income students and their families, helping many succeed in high school and graduate from college. The foundation provides essential childcare and educational support, enabling working parents to maintain stable employment while their children engage in high-quality after-school programs.
