Our Story
Founded in 1976 by Bob and Terry Wentsch, Rivendell School emerged from the vision of seven families seeking an alternative to the public school system. Inspired by the British Infant School philosophy, Rivendell emphasizes multi-age groups and individualized instruction. Over the decades, the school has evolved while remaining true to its roots, nurturing generations of children and fostering a love for learning.
From its humble beginnings in a rented house in Fort Collins to its current location at 1800 East Prospect Road, Rivendell has transformed a former utilities warehouse into a vibrant schoolhouse. This journey has allowed the school to significantly impact the lives of hundreds of children, helping them realize their personal potentials and become responsible, contributing citizens.
