Our Story
The Plus Me Project was founded in July 2013 by Richard Reyes, a former student of the Los Angeles Unified School District. Inspired by his journey as the first in his family to attend college, Richard began sharing his story with middle and high school students. This initiative quickly resonated, reaching over 12,500 students across more than 70 schools in Los Angeles. Recognizing the profound impact of narrative-based outreach, Plus Me developed six innovative programs that guide students, guardians, and educators in crafting their own stories. This unique approach fosters self-reflection and encourages vulnerable sharing, positioning Plus Me as a leader in supporting student wellness and future aspirations.
