The PLACE
EIN: 84-1549702 · Colorado Springs, CO
Our Story
In May 1999, a coalition of organizations, including the American Red Cross and Catholic Charities Marian House, recognized the urgent need for services for homeless youth in the Pikes Peak Region. This led to the establishment of Urban Peak Colorado Springs in 2000, initially operating from the Marian House Soup Kitchen. In 2004, The PLACE was unveiled as a dedicated sanctuary for homeless and runaway youth. In 2019, Urban Peak Colorado Springs became an independent entity, adopting the name The PLACE to reflect its mission of empowering youth and creating pathways to brighter futures.
