Our Story
In November 1977, a group of dedicated Filipino physicians came together to form an organization with a mission to provide educational, scientific, and charitable support. Over the years, the Philippine Medical Association of Southeastern Virginia has evolved, overcoming challenges to focus on delivering essential medical assistance to migrant workers on the Eastern Shores. The Mobile Clinic, also known as the Vehicle of Hope, emerged as a hallmark project, showcasing the commitment to volunteerism and the responsibility of physicians to care for underserved populations.
Since receiving 501(c)(3) status in 1978, PMASEV has directed fundraising efforts towards impactful projects both locally and internationally. Initiatives include health screenings in the Hampton Roads area, medical missions to the Philippines, and partnerships with organizations like Operation Smile and the Chesapeake Care Clinic.
