Our Story

Since 1977, Sojourn has been dedicated to meeting the emergency and long-term needs of domestic violence survivors in West Los Angeles. Originally known as Sojourn Services for Battered Women and Their Children, the organization has evolved through its merger with Lamp Community in 2016 to become a vital program of The People Concern. Today, Sojourn continues to adapt and respond to the needs of clients and survivors, ensuring they receive the support they deserve.

Impact

Last year, The People Concern achieved a remarkable 32% increase in outreach services, connecting individuals experiencing homelessness to vital support and housing resources. An impressive 92% of clients supported in permanent housing never experience homelessness again!
