Preserving the Ojai Valley's Natural Heritage
Founded in 1987, the Ojai Valley Land Conservancy (OVLC) was established to provide landowners with an alternative to real estate development. Through proactive advocacy, OVLC has successfully protected nearly a third of the Ventura River and manages approximately 2,600 acres of open space. This area, equivalent to two-thirds of the City of Ojai, is home to diverse wildlife, including mule deer, mountain lions, and the iconic California quail.
Making a Lasting Impact
OVLC maintains 27 miles of trails and welcomes hundreds of visitors each year, including tens of thousands of schoolchildren, hikers, equestrians, and bikers. By implementing nature-based solutions, OVLC is addressing the challenges posed by climate change, ensuring the preservation of critical wildlife corridors and enhancing the region's ecological resilience.
Why Donate?
Your support is vital for the continued protection of the Ojai Valley's landscapes. Donations to OVLC are tax-deductible and directly contribute to safeguarding the views, trails, water, and wildlife that define this cherished region.
