NYC Children's Holiday Party

Our Story

In 2002, inspired by the spirit of giving, little Arjun and Surya Garg, along with their mother Dr. Madhu Powar Garg, recognized a pressing need in New York City. After volunteering at a party for homeless children, they discovered that many children were missing out on the joy of the holidays. With the support of Antonio Rodriguez from the Department of Homeless Services, the NYC Children's Holiday Party was born. The first event in December 2003 welcomed 300 children from 15 shelters, creating a festive atmosphere filled with live performances, food, gifts, and the magic of Santa.

Our Impact

Today, NYCCHP is a grassroots organization powered by over 100 dedicated volunteers, including professionals from various fields. Each year, the organization strives to ensure that the holidays are a joyful time for the 20,500 homeless children in New York City. The goal is to expand the reach to include all homeless children aged 6 to 14, ensuring that no child is left out of the holiday celebrations.
