Our Story

The Meeting Place Clubhouse was founded in 1992 by a group of passionate individuals who envisioned a supportive community for adults facing mental health challenges. Meeting on a park bench in Balboa Park, they transformed their dreams into reality, establishing a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering recovery and growth. Over the years, the Clubhouse has expanded its services, providing essential housing and employment opportunities, and becoming the first Clubhouse International Accredited Clubhouse in California.
