Our Story
Founded in 1962 by David Eisenman, Mardan School began as a small tutoring program in Costa Mesa, California, aimed at helping children with learning and emotional disabilities. Recognizing the lack of support for these children in public schools, David's vision led to the establishment of the Mardan Center, named after his daughters, Marla and Dana. Over the years, the school has evolved significantly, moving from a modest office to a dedicated campus in Irvine, thanks to the generous support of the community.
In 1985, a capital campaign raised $6.5 million to purchase three acres of land, allowing Mardan to build a customized facility that includes bright classrooms, a gymnasium, a library, and a technology center. Today, Mardan School serves up to 100 students from Kindergarten through 12th grade, providing a nurturing environment where children can learn, explore, and thrive.
