Legacy of Love Foundation

Our Story

Founded in 1992 by Liller B. Green, The Legacy of Love Foundation, Inc. began as a challenge to the Philadelphia Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. to invest in the future of our community's most valuable resource: our children. With a personal gift of $25,000, Liller inspired the chapter to match her contribution, resulting in the establishment of a scholarship endowment foundation. In 2004, the foundation was renamed to reflect its broader mission, expanding beyond scholarships to support community-based programs in The Arts, Educational Development, Economic Empowerment, and Physical and Mental Health.

Impact

To date, The Legacy of Love Foundation has awarded over $300,000 in scholarships to college-bound students across the Greater Philadelphia region. In 2024 alone, $27,000 was granted to deserving students. Additionally, the foundation has provided grants to more than 50 nonprofit organizations, addressing critical needs in physical and mental health, economic empowerment, educational excellence, and the arts.
