The Lakes Community Health Center Inc, now known as NorthLakes Community Clinic, began as a grassroots initiative by concerned citizens in northern Wisconsin. Recognizing significant gaps in healthcare resources, this dedicated group worked tirelessly to establish a community health center. Within just four months, they secured federal funding, formed a Board of Directors, and opened the doors to their first clinic in Iron River, Wisconsin, in 2008.

Since then, NorthLakes has expanded its reach significantly, merging with other community health organizations and opening multiple clinics across 20,000+ square miles of Wisconsin. Today, NorthLakes operates 20 clinic sites in 13 counties, providing essential healthcare services to underserved populations. The organization’s commitment to addressing healthcare needs is evident in its diverse offerings, including dental care, mental health services, and outreach programs.
