Our Story

The Jefferson City Symphony Orchestra (JCSO) began in the 1920s with a small group of local musicians who played for church events. Their first performance was at an Easter service in 1923. Over the years, the orchestra evolved, faced challenges during World War II, and was re-established in 1948 as the Jefferson City Civic Orchestra. It became known as the Jefferson City Symphony and has since been a vital part of the cultural fabric of Jefferson City, performing at various venues and engaging the community through music.

Impact

The JCSO enriches the cultural landscape of Jefferson City by providing high-quality musical performances and fostering community engagement through music education and participation.
