Our Story

The International Center for Dialogue and Peacebuilding emerged as a legacy project from Minnesota's bid to host the 2023 World Expo. Focused on peacebuilding and conflict prevention, the Center is dedicated to addressing critical global issues such as governance, disarmament, climate change, and food security. Located at Bdote, a historic site sacred to the Dakota people, it serves as a hub for dialogue and mediation.

Impact

In March 2023, the Center played a crucial role in the successful conclusion of the BBNJ agreement, achieving more progress in three years than in the previous 17 years of negotiations. By convening leaders from various sectors, it fosters sustainable peace and security.
