For over 55 years, The Humane Society for Greater Savannah has been dedicated to the welfare of animals in the Savannah area. Founded by passionate animal lovers, this organization was incorporated in 1985 and has since evolved to better serve the community. With a commitment to providing a safe haven for pets, HSGS operates without government funding, relying solely on the generosity of private donations, special events, and the proceeds from our "Pick of the Litter" Thrift Shop.
This year alone, HSGS has positively impacted the lives of 13,652 animals, with 2,523 pets finding loving homes and 8,641 pets spayed or neutered through our clinic last year.
