Our Story
The Hope Center of Hendersonville, formerly known as Hope Academy, was established in 2007 as a donation-funded ministry of a local church. This initiative aimed to provide a day program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities who have aged out of school. In 2017, it transitioned into an independent self-sustaining program and achieved 501(c)(3) nonprofit status. The organization became accredited through CARF International in 2018 and received licensing from the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services in 2019. In 2020, it rebranded to The Hope Center of Hendersonville and relocated to a new campus to enhance its services.
