Our Story

In April 2001, a front-page story in the Sacramento Bee highlighted a neighborhood block with an astonishing 567 children, revealing the challenges faced by families in this low-income area. Inspired by the need for support, Kacie Stratton and volunteers from Sanctuary Covenant began engaging with the community at Ninos Park, fostering relationships and offering assistance to parents. This grassroots effort blossomed into a vision for a dedicated space for health, hope, and renewal, leading to the establishment of The GreenHouse in July 2002.

The GreenHouse serves as a community enrichment center, unlocking the inherent resources of the neighborhood and transforming it from mere survival to thriving. With 70% of our annual budget funded by donations from individuals, local businesses, and churches, The GreenHouse operates with minimal overhead, ensuring that contributions directly benefit local youth and families.
