Organizational Story

The Grand College of Rites was established on May 12, 1932, in Washington, D.C., to safeguard the history and rituals of defunct Masonic orders. This initiative began when the Sovereign Sanctuary of the Egyptian Masonic Rite of Memphis chose to surrender its sovereignty, leading to the formation of the Grand College of Rites. Since then, the organization has maintained authority over various Masonic rites and has published its annual transactions, known as 'Collectanea.'
