Transforming Lives Through Education
The Global Village Project (GVP) is the only school in the U.S. dedicated to serving refugee girls. Located in Clarkston, Georgia, one of the most diverse cities in the nation, GVP is committed to removing barriers to education and elevating the voices of young women from refugee backgrounds. With a full-day, tuition-free academic program, GVP serves 40-50 refugee learners who have faced significant challenges in their educational journeys.
Impacting Futures
GVP is pioneering a teaching and learning model for effective refugee education. On average, students gain 1.8 years of grade-level growth each year they are enrolled. An impressive 96% of alumni who participated in our mentoring program have continued their formal education, contrasting sharply with the estimated 75% dropout rate among refugee students. More than 10 GVP alumni have graduated from college, with 40 more currently enrolled, highlighting the transformative impact of GVP's educational model.
