The Food Initiative of Greater Stanislaus, formerly known as Inter-Faith Ministries of Greater Modesto, has been a beacon of hope for over 40 years. Founded by a diverse group of individuals united by faith and compassion, the organization began its journey in two small houses in downtown Modesto. Today, it continues to evolve, addressing the growing needs of the community while focusing on the mission to feed and clothe the poor.
Serving over 3 million meals annually, The Food Initiative reaches the most vulnerable members of the community, including more than 36,000 children. With programs like Gleaning & Gathering, the organization distributes over 90 tons of fresh produce each year, ensuring that health and hope are within reach for those in need.
