Our Story
The Family Pantry-Damien’s Place, named after Saint Damien DeVeuster, was founded in April 1992 by Fr. Gabriel Healey and Fr. Thomas McElroy. This nonprofit organization is dedicated to meeting the needs of the poor and needy in Southeastern Massachusetts by providing nutritious food to families, the disabled, the elderly, and the homeless. For over 28 years, the pantry has been committed to ensuring that no one goes to bed hungry.
Our Impact
In 2023 alone, the pantry has served over 58,100 individuals, showcasing its vital role in the community. With a small staff and over 120 dedicated volunteers, the pantry continues to make a significant difference in the lives of those in need.
